How do we learn? What can we learn about? Is there a better way to learn then to be immersed in a narrative. Upon group discussion, we decided without hesitation to tell the story of the site and its most obvious element, the bridge, through our Node's learning experience functionality. Most of us had a vague idea of the significance of the bridge, but upon further research, we found some astonishing facts. The Storey Bridge essentially kept Brisbane alive through The Great Depression. The construction of the bridge supported hundreds of jobs during perilous economic instability.

How can we tell this great story? Relevant materials and techtonics? Geometry and spatial relation? Revealing window views? Textual narrative? My next post will further explore design elements, which will be critical to revealing the narrative of the Storey Bridge and construction techniques. Perhaps this design can be managed by the council, with the user's primarily being tourists and people who want to learn more about our great city.
